Zak has been practicing law for over sixteen years. He graduated from the University of Kansas with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and went on to receive his Juris Doctorate from Washburn University. Since graduating from law school, Zak has spent his entire legal career practicing primarily in the area of workers' compensation law in both Kansas and Missouri.

Zak spent the majority of his early career representing employers and their insurance carriers by providing legal defense of workers' compensation claims. As such, he has extensive first-hand knowledge of the tactics and strategies that insurance companies use in their attempts to limit medical benefits and compensation to those who have been injured on the job. Since 2011, he has been able to use this knowledge to help even the playing field while focusing exclusively on assisting those individuals that have been hurt at work and whose rights are being denied by employers and insurance companies.

Zak is a member of the Kansas Association for Justice, the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association, the Workers' Injury Law & Advocacy Group, the Missouri Association of Trial Attorneys, the Johnson County Bar Association, and the Wyandotte County Bar Association, where he holds an active chairperson position with the Board of Governors.

Zak lives in Shawnee, Kansas with his beautiful wife, Katie, and their three amazing children. He is honored by the joy and privilege of raising his family alongside his wife and enjoys the opportunity to sneak out for a round of golf whenever he can find a few hours to spare.
